Absences and Makeups
Attendance Matters 🌟
Consistent attendance is one of the most important ingredients in your dancer’s growth and confidence. Every class builds on the last, and each dancer’s presence helps the whole team move forward together.
With only 9 dancing weeks from the start of our term until our first show, every rehearsal is valuable. If a dancer is absent, the choreography may need to progress without them so the class stays on track. For this reason, dancers may not be included in sections of choreography that were taught during their absence.
We want every dancer to shine on stage, and regular attendance ensures they feel prepared, confident, and fully part of the performance experience. 💜
Attendance 🌟
Regular attendance is essential for student growth, confidence, and for keeping group choreography on track. With only 9 dancing weeks from the start of our term to our first show, every class is important. Please make every effort to attend each class.
Dancers who are in—or hoping to move into—the leveled program must maintain an attendance rate of at least 85%.
If a dancer is absent, choreography may need to move forward in their absence. To keep the piece performance-ready, dancers may not be included in sections that were taught or rehearsed while they were away.
Make-Up Policies 🔄
Each dancer is allowed two make-up classes per class, per 12-week term.
Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same term.
Make-up classes are a wonderful opportunity for dancers to stay on track, but they are not a substitute for consistent attendance.
